Scott Greca began his study of martial arts in November 1985 at the age of 13 in a
community education Tae Kwon Do Program in Saline, MI - a Tae Kwon Do School under
Grand Master Kwang Choi.  Required by his parents to pay for some of his own training -
something he never regrets.  Scott progressed well through Tae Kwon Do, often
participating in extra activities such as the demonstration team. In 1987, when Grand
Master Choi introduced the world to Choi Kwang-Do, our instructors: Dave and Phil
Kwiecinski also made the switch to Choi Kwang-Do. While change to a dynamic style from
Tae Kwon Do was not easy, Scott developed his Choi Kwang-Do skills quickly and began
to assist other students and instructors in class. Upon reaching the rank of Brown Belt in
1988, Scott was introduced to the man who would become his instructor, mentor, and one
of his best friends - Mr. Gene Duncan - a Black Belt Instructor who had just returned to
Michigan from a temporary job assignment in California.  In a short time, Mr. Duncan went
on to become Chief Instructor of the program in Saline while developing Scott into an
effective and highly trained instructor. By 1990, Scott earned his first-degree black belt and
was an integral part of the instructor team responsible for one of the most successful Choi
Kwang-Do programs in the state. As one of Mr. Duncan's most dedicated instructors, Mr.
Greca visited Choi Kwang-Do International Headquarters twice in 1990 to train directly
under Grand Master Choi. In 1991, Mr. Greca became one of the youngest instructors to be
certified as a Chief Instructor and Women's Self-Defense Instructor under the authority of
Choi Kwang-Do International.

In 1992, Mr. Greca teamed up with his brother, Mr. Craig Greca, and took on operation of the
Ann Arbor YMCA program while continuing to serve as one of Mr. Duncan's Head
Instructors in Saline.  Under their leadership, the Ann Arbor YMCA program thrived as
membership grew tremendously from fifteen students to over eighty, despite the fact that
there were five other martial art programs at the YMCA. Choi Kwang-Do became the largest
martial art program at the Ann Arbor YMCA, a tribute to Mr. Greca's leadership. During this
time, Mr. Scott Greca was also appointed Assistant Technical Director for Choi Kwang-Do
Michigan later transitioning to Chairman of the Technical Publications Committee in order
to support the development of manuals, guides, and procedures for Choi Kwang-Do
International. It was also during this time that Mr. Greca helped Mr. Duncan train instructors
from other Southeast Michigan Choi Kwang-Do schools for their development. Shortly there
after, Mr. Greca began training as an Examiner and was certified in 1996.

In 1995, Mr. Greca took on the role of Captain of the Michigan Demonstration Team - a 30
member team made up of talented Choi Kwang-Do Students and Instructors from all over
Southeast Michigan dedicated to the promotion of Choi Kwang-Do. Mr. Greca brought a
unique look and feel to the demonstrations, which provided for an informative, professional,
and exciting presentation of Choi Kwang-Do. It was in 1997, that the Michigan
Demonstration Team shocked the Choi Kwang-Do world by earning top honors in the
Demonstration Team competition - a feat that required the team to perform an encore
during the Choi Kwang-Do 10th Anniversary Seminar. Unfortunately, Mr. Duncan passed
away due to cancer in November 1998.  In order to keep the dream alive, Mr. Greca took
over operation of the Belleville Choi Kwang-Do School for his fallen friend. Near the end of
1998, Grand Master Choi directly appointed Mr. Greca as Regional Director of Michigan - a
position he went on to hold for 5 years. During this time, Mr. Greca worked hard to support
the schools and the development of Choi Kwang-Do in Michigan. Mr. Greca's efforts at the
state and school level paid off, as most of the current Choi Kwang-Do school owners in
Michigan were former instructors under Mr. Greca at either his Ann Arbor or Belleville
Locations. In November 2005, Scott tested for the rank of Master Instructor and was
awarded his new belt and position at the 18th Anniversary Choi Kwang-Do seminar in
Michigan on November 18, 2005.

With 23 years of martial arts experience, Master Scott Greca is currently the Owner of the
Greca Choi Kwang-Do School - one of the most successful operations in Michigan. In his
position as Chief Instructor, Master Greca oversees the complete operation of a school of
200 students and manages an instructor team of over 20 instructors along with his brother,
Mr. Craig Greca. As the most Senior Instructor/Examiner in the State of Michigan, Master
Greca certifies new examiners and instructors converting from other martial art styles to
Choi Kwang-Do. In addition to his responsibilities at the Greca Choi Kwang-Do School and
Michigan, Master Greca is an International Choi Kwang-Do Faculty member and serves as
an Advisor to Choi Kwang-Do International and Grandmaster Choi where he continues to
assist in the development of Choi Kwang-Do International standards, policies, and
publications. He has been credited for his contributions to new Choi Kwang-Do book by
Grand Master Choi and regularly acts as Master of Ceremonies for Official Choi Kwang-Do
events. Master Greca continues to develop students and instructors while he works on
building operations for his current studio as well as establishing an Instructor
Development Center for continuing education of Instructors.
